Muscle Conference

The latest Muscle conference was held at Palais Stéphanie by Sofitel in Cannes, France on 11 and 12 February 2008.

This event highlighted and demonstrated the major results achieved by the members of its community in the field of Multimedia Understanding through Semantics, Computation and Machine Learning.

The Conference was open to the scientific community at large, including the whole Muscle Community, the European Commission, as well as all EU funded projects.

Transportation details
Nice International Airport is the closest international airport to the meeting site. The Hotel Palais Stéphanie  is located about 30 kms from the airport. The travel time between the airport and the hotel (meeting site) will vary between 30 minutes to one hour depending on traffic conditions. Taxi fares will range between 60-70 &euros;.

By car:
If you are renting a car at the airport, please take the highway A8 to the West, in the direction of Cannes and Aix en Provence. This is a toll road.
Via the A8 from Nice or Aix en Provence, take exit no. 42 for Cannes, Mougins. Follow the signs for Cannes Centre, head along Boulevard Carnot (D6285) for 3 km, then take La Croisette following the shoreline until you reach the hotel (900 m). From the Gare de Cannes train station, take Rue Jean Jaures (160 m), turn right into Rue Chabaud (120 m), continue along Rue Jean Mace (210 m), then turn left into Boulevard de la Croisette (510 m).

By train:
Most of the trains stop in “Cannes”. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
From the train station, walk down the street named “Rue du 24 août” until “Rue d’Antibes”. Then walk down rue des Belges and turn on the left to Boulevard Croisette.

There are buses services  from the airport to Cannes for a fee of 1.30€
